Kevin Love leads Cleveland Cavaliers past Indiana Pacers, Philadelphia 76ers lose again

Kyrie Irving had a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds as the Cavs improved to an 8-7 win-loss record.

The Pacers slipped to 7-10 despite having five players contribute double figures for points, led by David West's 14.

The Cavs started brightly before the Pacers responded, only for a 35-22 third quarter to put the home team in control.

In Philadelphia, the 76ers slumped to a franchise-record 16th straight loss - beaten 110-103 by the Dallas Mavericks.

Tyson Chandler (20 points and 13 rebounds) had a double-double and Monta Ellis contributed 18 points for the winners.

Veteran Dirk Nowitzki was rested for the Mavs.

Michael Carter-Williams had a triple-double for the 76ers, shooting 18 points, providing 16 assists and pulling down 10 rebounds.

The 76ers became the fifth team in NBA history to start a season with at least 16 straight losses, and they are quickly closing in on the record-breaking 2009-10 New Jersey Nets (0-18).

Blake Griffin's 28-point haul helped the Los Angeles Clippers to a 112-96 victory against the Utah Jazz.

James Harden had 34 points to lead the Houston Rockets to a comfortable 117-103 win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Washington Wizards edged the New Orleans Pelicans 83-80, and the Atlanta Hawks thrashed the Charlotte Hornets 105-75 after leading by 44 during the third quarter.
