GK - André Ferreira (Pacos de Ferreira)

They easily dismantled relegation threatened Newcastle away at St. James Park 4-0. Guardiola's men have now set a new record for the most top flight wins in a calendar year.

Joao Cancelo has been in terrific form this season for the Cityzens.

The Portuguese put in yet another masterclass performance again scoring a goal and assisting another in the match. Cancelo recorded a 90% pass accuracy on the day, winning five out of his 10 ground duels as per Sofascore.

The 27-year-old is our first pick for our defence this week as he helped City stay three points clear at the top of the summit.

DEF - Denzel Dumfries (Inter Milan)

Inter Milan proved to be the biggest winners in Serie A in matchweek 18.

Milan demolished newly promoted Salernitana away from home 5-0. Dumfries' impressive performance earned him a goal as well.

The 25-year-old Dutchman, won three of his eight ground duels, completing five out of his 10 aerial duels as well.

It's not so often we see defenders get goals but the young defender was assured at the back for Inter helping them record a clean sheet as well while extending their lead at the top of the table to four points.

DEF - Kenneth Omeruo (Leganes FC)

Leganes defeated Malaga away from home 2-0 in their matchweek 21 La Liga 2 fixture. Kenneth Omeruo was amongst the goalscorers for the away side.

The 28-year-old Nigerian International was deservedly named the Man of the Match for his incredible display over the weekend.

He won all of his aerial duels and all of his ground duels as well. He also made two interceptions and two successful tackles and even completed all his attempted dribbles.

His immense contribution enabled Leganes shut out Malaga's attack completely, recording another clean sheet in the process.

DEF - Dayot Upamecano (Bayern Munich)

Bayern Munich cruised to a 4-0 thrashing of VFL Wolfsburg at the Allianz Arena on Friday. Dayot Upamecano was the stand out performer for the Bundesliga champions.

The 23 year old Frenchman got amongst the goalscorers for the home side, making five tackles as well as two interceptions and two clearances for the league leaders.

He also won five of his seven ground duels and was not dribbled past in the entire match.

The young Frenchman was outstanding over the weekend helping Bayern to another clean sheet as well as extending their lead at the top of the table to nine points off second placed Dortmund. The Frenchman rightly completes our defenders pick for our Team Of The Weekend.

MID - Sven Mijnans (Sparta Rotterdam)

Relegation threatened Sparta Rotterdam put on fightback to force a 2-2 draw at home 5th placed Vitesse in matchweek 17 of the Dutch Eredivisie.

Sven Mijnanas was instrumental in helping the home side restore parity after going down by two goals. The 21-year-old put in an impressive performance for Sparta, scoring both goals for the home side.

He also completed two out of his three attempted dribbles and laid on three key passes for the team. The comeback and his outstanding performance have truly earned him a debut in our midfield pick this weekend.

He's actually one of the highest performing midfielders this weekend.

MID - Rafa Silva (SL Benfica)

Benfica's talismanic midfielder, Rafa Silva makes a return to our Team Of The Week.

Benfica helped themselves to a 7-1 demolition of tenth-placed Maritimo in matchweek 15 of the Portuguese Primeira Liga.

Rafa Silva was once again the star of the show, scoring a goal and creating an incredible four assists in the game.

The phenomenal 28-year-old won nine of his 10 ground duels, laid seven key passes and created five big chances in the process. He also had an 85% pass accuracy as per Sofascore.

Silva is unarguably the highest performing midfielder of the weekend and inevitably marks his consecutive return to our Team Of The Weekend.

MID - Lucas Torreira (Fiorentina FC)

Fiorentina forced a 2-2 draw at home against Sassuolo after initially going 2-0 down by half-time. To make matters worse, the home side went down to 10 men after Cristiano Biraghi was sent off in the second half.

Torreira's resurgence saw him assist a goal and score the equalizer to inspire a comeback and help Fiorentina share the spoils with Sassuolo at full time.

The 25-year-old midfielder on loan from Arsenal put up an incredible second-half shift for the home side, helping Fiorentina remain level on points with fifth-placed AS Roma as they continue to compete for spots in Europe next season.

ST - Gerard Moreno (Villareal CF)

Villareal entered Week 17 of La Liga with a resurgent win at Real Sociedad, 3-1.

Man of the Match Moreno was immense for the away side scoring two of his team's goal and creating an assist.

The 29-year-old striker also completed four of his five attempted dribbles and made three key passes in the game.

The win now puts Villareal in the top half of the La Liga submit as they pursue European spots for next season. Moreno's impressive showing makes our first strikers pick as he debuts in our Team Of the Weekend.

ST - Tammy Abraham (AS Roma)

AS Roma pulled off a shock 4-1 win away at Atalanta in matchweek 18 of the Serie A. England striker, Tammy Abraham scored two goals for the Romans in that match.

The 24-year-old has been the focal point of Roma's attack for Jose Mourinho since his move from Chelsea.

The massive away win means that Roma are now solidly in contention for Europa League qualification, although they remain seven points off fourth-placed Atalanta.

ST - Kylian Mbappe (PSG)

PSG took on Feignes FC in their French Cup fixture over the weekend, recording a 3-0 victory away from home.

Kylian Mbappe was a starter for the Parisans and as you would expect, scored two goals for the away side.

The prolific young forward completed eight of his 13 attempted dribbles, won 15 out of his 18 ground duels as well as winning two penalties, one of which he scored.
