After breaking into the City first team last season, Iheanacho’s place was uncertain following the coming of .

City have however continued to place faith in the 19-year-old Nigeria international, who scored 14 times in all competitions last season.

He made a huge impact in City’s 2014 summer tour of the United States and then coach, Manuel Pellegrini promoted him to the first team.

He got his Premier League debut in in August 2015 against Watford and scored a memorable hattrick in January 2016 at Villa in the FA Cup.

Only Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero outscored the Nigerian at the club.

Speaking of his new contract, Iheanacho says he is delighted at the development and expressed his desire to work harder.

"I just need to keep working hard and express my feelings on the pitch, and work really well and do great things for the team,” Iheanacho told City official website.

“I'm happy and I appreciate everything the Club has done for me so far at this point so I really need to help and work for them as well.”

Manager Guardiola revealed that he has been impressed with the Super Eagles player since he arrived at the club.
