Nigerian football icon reacts to death of NFF protocol officer, Abubakar
Nigerian football icon, Kanu Nwankwo has reacted to the death of the head of protocols of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Abubakar.
According to the NFF, Abubakar was gunned down by armed robbers at the early hours of this morning, Wednesday, January 6 at his residence in Abuja.
Kanu took to Twitter to express his sadness over the death of Abubakar and condemned the act of the perpuatrators.
"Very bad and sad news that our Good friend the nigeria football federation chief protocol was shot dead in his home.ibrahim ABUBAKAR R.I.P," Kanu said on Twitter.
"You can witch hunt or try to put people down or bring the name the worked for down or any other bad thing but is bad to take some body life,"Â he added.
Super Eagles media officer Toyin Ibitoye also reacted to the news on Twitter.
"Shocking, devastating & tragic news about the killing of @thenff's head of protocol Ibrahim Abubakar by armed robbers this morning in Abuja," Ibitoye tweeted.
Super Eagles midfielder Onazi Ogenyi also reacted writing on Twitter: "Very sad to hear about the unfortunate loss of Ibrahim Abubakar. Rest in Peace! Our prayers are with the family you left behind."
The late Abubakar was a graduate of political science at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and is survived by his wife and three children.
