In the interview K9 labels what went wrong to bureaucratic issues from Trybe Records. "These things you never really plan. You can't really say 'OK, yes after this single this is going to happen'. There where obviously plans but...some stuff came up, bureaucratic stuff, administrative stuff, red tape, all that kind of stuff. But that's all behind me. We've moved past that. This is the new era" he stated.

During this period, K9 admitted that he was frustrated when 'Kokoma' didn't hit its full potential. "I did go through a lot, sometimes bordering on frustration. In this life things happen, but if you understand you will know things work together for good."

"The song was released end of 2012, throughout 2013 got nominations from different awards. It was one of the biggest songs of 2013. A lot of artistes would feel slighted, would feel like they were being held back" he further stated.

K9 is on a new record label Big Baby Entertainment. He has released a single 'Lord Have Mercy' featuring K9, and Ileke.
