Legendary Chelsea and England captain John Terry recently sat down with FIFA to discuss Jude Bellingham's stellar performance at the 2026 World Cup and the Three Lions' prospects against Argentina.
The Real Madrid star netted both goals in England's quarter-final triumph over Norway, building on his brace in the epic 3-2 victory against co-hosts Mexico in the Round of 16. Bellingham has become the first midfielder to score six goals at a World Cup, prompting former England captain Terry to compare his heroic displays to Zinedine Zidane's influential role in France's 1998 glory and their 2006 final run.
“I said at the start of this World Cup that he reminds me of Zidane. He's carrying this team right now. I think he's world-class. Moreover, when you listen to him off the pitch, he possesses a real calmness about him.”
“Honestly, I'm not worried about Argentina. I believe we have the better squad, player for player. You know what I like about this England team right now? We've had big moments. We have a good team, but it feels like everything is aligning for us. It feels like this is England's moment,” Terry stated.
