In anticipation of another bid from Chelsea, John Stones has handed in a written transfer request in a bid to force a move

Everton defender John Stones has handed in a transfer request amidst an intense interest from Chelsea.

English Premier League defending champions, Chelsea have been trailed with defensive problems this season and are keen to add the 21-year-old to their ranks.

Jose Mourinho has seen offers of £20m, £26m and £30m for the defender turned down by Everton but Chelsea are set to return with another bid in the region of £35million.

In anticipation of the bid, Stones has handed in a written transfer request in a bid to force a move to Chelsea.

Stone is seen as a long time replacement of captain John Terry who has been very shaky so far this season.

Terry was substituted for the first time in a league game by Mourinho in their 0-3 defeat to Manchester City and was sent off in their clash against .
