Ogu has been in impressive form for his Israel based team, Hapoel Beer Sheva but has been ignored by caretaker coach of the Super Eagles, Samson Siasia.

Siasia on Thursday, March, 3 released a list of 42 players for the Egypt clash with Ogu and Mainz 05 defender, Leon Balogun the most obvious omissions.

Ogu was last invited to the Super Eagles under Stephen Keshi in their first match of the 2017 AFCON group qualifiers against Chad in Kaduna.

Ogu took to Twitter to reach to the omission, insinuating that he was snubbed because he plays in Israel.

“Nigeria is the only country where they will insult you when you are on the bench for a club in Italy or Spain or England and still insult you when you make a move to a club and country where you are  playing, saying you need a big club forgetting you working under a contract,” he said.

“I have learnt a big lesson from my days in Academica . All a football player needs his where he plays and enjoy and people appreciating his efforts and thank God I found myself in such position today.

“I'm Happy today and proud and to be honest I rather waste my time on improving as a player and working hard everyday to be the best than focus on such mentality.”

He however urged his fans to forget about his omission and support Nigeria as they face Egypt.
