The 32-year-old might have been training too hard as he injured his hand due to the intense work out.

Barton posted a photo of a scar on his hand which he got from some intense gym sessions on his official Instagram account.

The English midfielder has been keeping his followers update from the St Mary's University in Twickenham where he is undergoing strength and conditioning sessions to keep him in shape.

The once-capped England international played 28 times for QPR in the last English Premier League but couldn't stop the London club from going down.
