Portuguese forward João Félix has urged calm among fans back home, acknowledging concerns over the national team's form following a somewhat shaky group stage performance at the 2026 World Cup. Félix stressed the importance of composure within the "Seleção" ahead of their knockout stage clash against Croatia in Toronto this week. Portugal drew with DR Congo and Colombia, and secured a 5-0 victory over Uzbekistan in Group K, ultimately finishing second in their group.

"Everyone back home needs to stay calm, despite any worries. The lads here are cool-headed. Two draws don't mean we've lost confidence or that people should start doubting us. Fans should know that we are prepared for Croatia. We know them well, and that's an advantage for us. We are confident we will win; we will do everything possible to advance," the 26-year-old forward told the media.

Portugal is set to face Croatia on July 3rd in Toronto.
