Washington congratulated Dubai on their title win.

"Only congratulations to them, they played a really good game. It's their first title, they deserved it, they played well, it's been a hell of a year for them, they finished first in the league. So, considering the year we've had, to be in the position we are, I'm very proud of us, proud of the coaching staff, and proud of the guys, definitely proud of the team." - Dwayne Washington

He described the season in a few sentences.

"A lot of ups and downs. We are a very resilient team, and we showed that throughout the year. Unfortunately, there were some bad moments, and fortunately, there were some great moments. So... we would have liked to finish this the right way, but everything happens for a reason, so..." - Dwayne Washington

He clearly stated that he would not continue playing for Partizan.

"I'm excited to see what's next. For me, having this opportunity here to come and prove myself, and the team believing in me... I have nothing bad to say about Partizan. And for me, I'm truly grateful for the opportunity, grateful to the fans, grateful for the support." - Dwayne Washington

He was asked if there had been any discussions about a potential stay. The answer was quite clear.

"No." - Dwayne Washington

Peñarroya Dejected

Dubai played very aggressively from start to finish. The Black and Whites tightened up when it mattered most, but still had a chance to win. Avramović did hit two free throws, then Carlik Jones missed a shot for overtime, making Dubai the ABA League champions for the first time.

After this very exciting match, Joan Penjarroya spoke at the press conference.

"Congratulations to Dubai on the ABA title. I think we tried to win, but it was a 50-50 game. It's very difficult to win games of such importance. We made mistakes at crucial moments, we didn't control the defensive rebound, and it's clear we played with poor percentages, but those were good shots. We missed open shots. We were probably tired and needed more energy, but we didn't have it. It was visible in those situations. The season wasn't easy, neither for us nor for the fans. We changed our team's appearance during the season. In the end, we fought for the title, the series was competitive, but unfortunately, we suffered a loss at home. We need to go a step further next season." - Joan Penjarroya.

He expressed pride in the club's stabilization, but acknowledged that the goals were not achieved.

"At this moment, I have a bad feeling. When I arrived, the situation was difficult. First, I wanted to change small things, and our goal was the ABA League. We also tried to win the KLS and the Cup, but in those domestic competitions, we had to rely on a different roster. In the ABA League, we competed well, but in a competition like this, it's normal to experience some losses. The league part of the season was important, after which Dubai was first and had home-court advantage. I'm happy with the effort of the players and fans that we stabilized, but we didn't achieve our main goal, and this is definitely bad for the players and for me." - Joan Penjarroya

He revealed what was the key to the defeat.

"It's clear that in the end, we lost by two points. The game was competitive. In the last quarter, the energy on the rebound was poor. That was the key to the defeat. We tried to fight with 100 percent capacity, but I have no complaints about the players, that's just basketball." - Joan Penjarroya
