Couple flee with 4 young children to join jihadists in Syria

British authorities suggests that four kids who were reported missing may have been taken to Syria by their parents who went to join the Islamic State (ISIS).

“It is an extremely dangerous place and not a place where young children should be taken,” said acting Thames Valley Deputy Chief Constable John Campbell.

Campbell also urged the children's father Asif Malik — a follower of a radical Muslim cleric who supports ISIS — and mother  Sara Kiran“to make contact with us so we can return them safely to their families, who are extremely worried about them.”

New York Post reports that 31-yr-old Malik, regularly attended demonstrations led by Anjem Choudary, whose Islam4UK group was banned in 2010.

Choudary — who has been linked to a number of Brits who have fought in Syria for ISIS — confirmed that he knew Malik and described him as a “champion for sharia,” or Islamic law, according to The Guardian.

Cops also have information that Malik “has said that he would like to live in a Muslim state,” but Campbell insisted that didn’t necessarily mean he wanted to join ISIS.

Malik was reported missing on Thursday along with Kiran, 29, and their kids: daughter Zoha, 7, and sons Essa, 4, Zakariya, 2, and Yhaya, 1.

Officials said they left their hometown of Slough and boarded a ferry from Dover to Calais, France, early on April 8.

Images from surveillance video released Sunday showed them walking through the ferry terminal while leaving the UK, with Malik carrying one of the boys.

The family is believed to have traveled south through Europe by rail, passing through Budapest, Hungary, April 12.

There’s been no trace of them since then, and Malik’s kin said they are “heartbroken.”

“The greatest sadness is the decision by Asif and Sarat to travel with their family, such beautiful children,” the family said in a statement.
