Twitter users are having another debate on whether men should be depended on for everything during dates and relationships generally.

Conversations on gender roles have never been scarce on Naija Twitter, a major part of this being the aspect of bills, financial responsibilities and who should pay for stuff in relationships and marriages.

Another episode of this – the most recent - has been triggered by a Nigerian woman in diaspora who claims, in a tweet posted on February 18, that when a man allows her pay for something, presumably during a date with him, she sees such man as nothing but shameless.

How can you “conveniently”pick when to be a feminist? You pay, he pays. That’s equality and fairness. There might be moments when one party wants to spoil the other, but generalizing on your statement is intellectually unsettling considering your past tweets.
