"We needed this win at home to celebrate with our fans. The players performed really well. We started very aggressively, and that was exactly the kind of start we needed. We were completely focused on getting the opening goal," Iraola told Sky Sports.

"It is a good feeling, and we must keep going like this. I like a lot of what I see on the pitch. Some players performed better than others, but this is a team you can trust," he added.

Speaking to the BBC, the manager also emphasized his team's defensive discipline.

"We wanted to put in a strong performance and keep a clean sheet. We know Brighton very well. We had to deal with a few crosses and set-pieces, but overall, we were very solid."

Iraola also commented on the condition of Florian Wirtz, who was forced off with an ankle issue.

"He suffered a slight ankle twist. It does not look too serious, but we play every three days and I do not know if he will be available for the next match. We will have to see," the manager explained.

The head coach also singled out Ronald Araujo for praise regarding his contribution to the win.

"He deserves the praise. He got forward and provided the assist for the opening goal. I am very pleased with him," Iraola concluded.
