IATA predicts huge increase in global passenger traffic

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is predicting a huge increase in global passenger traffic.

According to the association, global passenger traffic will be over seven billion in the next 20 years.

“The demand for air transport continues to grow. There is much work to be done to prepare for the 7 billion passengers expected to take the skies in 2034,” says Director-General/Chief Executive Officer, Tony Tyler.

IATA predicts that Africa will grow by 4.7 per cent for 294 million passengers by 2034.

The association also predicts that the cost of air travel will reduce at a rate of 1-1.5 per cent per year in the next 20 years.
