FIFA President Gianni Infantino expressed immense satisfaction with the 2026 World Cup, hailing it as an incredible tournament. He stated that the global spectacle surpassed all expectations and shattered records across the board. Infantino specifically praised the performances of finalists Spain and Argentina, asserting that "La Furia" deservedly claimed the world title. However, the FIFA President emphasized that the success was a collective effort, a result of everyone involved in organizing the tournament.

"We managed to bring joy to millions of people in America and worldwide. We witnessed unique scenes with fans in stadiums and on the streets – in the USA, Canada, Mexico, and everywhere else. This reminds us that World Cup football is more than just a competition. It unites the world and can make it a little better. We broke every possible record," Infantino proudly declared.

Infantino also highlighted the goal-scoring fiesta, noting that over 300 goals were scored – nearly three per match.

"All the biggest stars performed exceptionally – Rodri, who was the tournament's best player, Leo Messi, Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland, Harry Kane, and Jude Bellingham. New players and beautiful stories also emerged. You couldn't write a script for a more perfect World Cup. I think we need to invent new words to describe the success of this tournament," the FIFA President stated.

Infantino is already looking ahead to the next special edition of the tournament. The 2030 World Cup will mark the 100th anniversary of the first Mundial and will be hosted by Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, with celebratory matches in Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay.

"We will see if we will again have 48 teams or perhaps 64. We will discuss and analyze this. We will also see if there will be hydration breaks and if the offside rule will be changed to give even greater advantage to attackers," Infantino said.

He also underscored what he believes was the most important message left by the 2026 World Cup – football's ability to unite people.
