California seeks winner of unclaimed $63m lottery price
Alex Traversos, California Lottery Spokesperson, said on Friday in Los Angeles that the time clock was ticking down on someone's chance of a lifetime a 63 million-dollar California lottery prize.
He said the money has gone unclaimed since the winning numbers were drawn in August.
Traversos said the "The SuperLotto Plus’’ ticket with the winning combination of 1-16-30-33-46 plus a Mega number of 24 was sold August 8 at a 7-11 corner shop in Chatsworth, a suburb of Los Angeles.
He said the California Lottery allowed 180 days for the winner to present the winning ticket, after which the prize would be forfeited and donated to fund for local schools.
Traversos warned that if a winner turned up the ticket after the deadline, too bad, the ticket will be worthless.
"My hope will be for them that they never find it after the deadline passes.
Meanwhile, a Los Angeles man has filed court papers claiming that he sent lottery officials the winning ticket, but that lottery officials destroyed it.
