READ: Wife claims she never knew husband was an armed robber

The suspects identified as Akapo Paul and Johnson Shorinnolu aged 73 and 63 respectively are reportedly facing charges of theft and conspiracy following an appearance before an Ota Magistrates’ Court.

Vanguard reports that the Prosecutor, Abdulkareem Mustapha, had revealed that the accused had committed the offences sometime in 2015, allegedly conspiring to steal 14 million dollars from the accounts to which they both are signatories.

The accused' had however, pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against them with the Chief Magistrate, Mrs A.I. Adelaja, admitting them to bail in the sum of N2 million each with two sureties in like sum.

The sureties, according to the reports, must be residents within the court’s jurisdiction, gainfully employed, sworn to an affidavit of means with evidence of tax payments to Ogun State Government.

The case has reportedly been adjourned till May 20 for further hearing.
