A total of 154 Nigerians who were deported from Libya have arrived Lagos aboard a Libyan Airline.

According to the Nigerian Immigration Service, the deportees arrived Lagos on Monday, October 10, 2016 aboard a Libyan Airline at about 4.00pm local time.

In a report by The Nation Newspapers, the return of the deportees was facilitated by the assistance of the International Office for Migration (IOM).

The Nigerians who arrived the shores of the country include trapped individuals in the Libyan crisis, as well as some individuals trying to make their way to Europe.

Comprising of 96 females and 58 males - among which are nine pregnant women, three minors and three others with serious medical issues - the deportees were received at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport by officials of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the Nigeria Police, Air Force Command and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
