NSE partners KEDCO on training of Engineers
The Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) says it is partnering with the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Kano State chapter, to train its Engineers.
The Director of the company, Alhaji Jamilu Gwamna, disclosed this when members of the society paid him a courtesy visit in Kano.
According to him, the training by the NSE will boost the experience of the engineers.
“The aim of the collaboration is to make sure that we provide our teaming engineers with more knowledge on their profession in order to give our customers the best services.
“We are also ready to sponsor any activities of the NSE for the interest of our people and for the development of the country,’’ Gwamna said.
The Chairman of the society, Rabiu Haruna, said the purpose of the visit was to strengthen the existing good relationship between KEDCO and the NSE.
Haruna said the main focus of the society was to enhance the professional competence and development of its members at all times.
“NSE has played a significant role toward developing professional competence of its members through Annual Conferences, workshops, seminars, mentoring and career guidance.
“All these are to ensure that registered members have the required competence to compete professionally in all parts of the world, with a view to delivering results through active collaboration with other professionals,” he said.
“If we look at the statistical index of registered engineers which is about 50,000 as compared to our population, you will notice that we are still far behind,” the chairman said.
