Iran has destroyed over 100,000 satellite dishes for being the cause of most divorce and insecurity.

The head of Iran’s Basij Militia, Mohammad Reza Naghdi stated that most satellite channels deviate the society’s morality and culture.
"What these televisions really achieve is increased divorce, addiction and insecurity in society."
According to , Naghidi stated that about a million Iranians voluntarily handed in their satellite equipment.
Satellite Televisions are banned in Iran and punishable under the fine of $2,800
