Tribunal upholds Dankwambo's election, fines APC petitioner

The Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Gombe state has upheld the election of the incumbent PDP Governor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo.

The tribunal threw out the petition brought against the Governor by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last gubernatorial election in the state, Mr. Inuwa Yahaya for lack of merit.

Presided over by Justice Suraj, the tribunal fined Yahaya the sum of N3500 for "deliberately attempting to defame" the integrity of the tribunal.
