Unfortunately for residents of Enugu state, this means terrible traffic due to the huge number of travelers on the urban roads.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, all major roads, especially those around market places, have heavy traffic.

The traffic is worse on Agbani Road, Zik Avenue, Chime Avenue, Ogui Road, Abakaliki Road, Abakpa Nike and Nike Lake Road.

According to a passenger called Ujunwa Okam, the traffic is a result of illegal parking.

“Some motorists on the queues at the filling stations use their cars to block the roads, some will even park along the road for shopping.”

John Nweke, a commercial driver attributed the increase in traffic to travelers.

“You know that majority of people residing in Enugu are not from here, while some people outside return for the celebrations. So that is why we have heavy traffic.”
