'1,183 casualties from 362 road accidents were recorded in 2015', FRSC says

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has released the figures from Benue state.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the sector Commander, Mr Chidi Nkwonta, announced that 1,183 casualties from 362 road accidents were recorded, last year.

Over speeding, dangerous driving, wrongful overtaking, use of phone, loss of control and route violations were the stated as the usual causes of these road crashes.

However, Nkwonta said overspeeding was the number 1 cause of road accidents.

April and August were the months with the most crashes, while fewer accidents occurred during the last four months of 2015.
