Hull City and Brentford played out a 1-1 draw in their Premier League round-eight clash. The result keeps both sides within touching distance of the top five, though both are enduring difficult runs, having managed just one win between them in their last ten league outings.
Hull enjoyed a strong first half and took a deserved lead in the 24th minute when Oli McBurnie converted from the penalty spot. The spot-kick was awarded after an ill-judged pass from visiting goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher to Aaron Hickey resulted in the defender fouling Tim Iroegbunam.
Brentford responded with an improved display after the break and found their equaliser in the 63rd minute courtesy of Dango Ouattara, who was set up by former Ludogorets forward Igor Thiago.
Both sides had one clear-cut opportunity to snatch a winner in the closing stages, but neither could find the decisive touch.
