Ice Prince Zamani was at Pulse Nigeria yesterday October 25, 2016 to promote his third studio album “Jos to the World”.
The album is set to drop officially on Friday, October 28, 2016.
Courtesy he and his team, he brought along cupcakes for the Pulse Editorial team.
The rapper took time to explain the creative process that went into making the album which comprises 19 tracks, he talks about the producers that worked with him including new producer illKeys, and long time collaborator Chopstix among others who has produced tracks like ‘Shots on shots’ and ‘More’ among others.
Ice reveals he went as far as Universal studios in the US to mix and master the album.
According to the rapper, the album is more of a personal one revolving around love and relationships.
“If I’m writing a love story, it’s because I was in love at that time but sometimes I imagine stories such as with the song 'Whiskey', and that's the situation with this album."
It boasts of the rapper in his element as a Hip-hop act, with deep lyrics and dope bars on the album, featuring likes of Dice Ailes who raps pretty well.
The rapper mixes the rap with dance tracks featuring acts like Timaya and Tiwa Savage.
Some of the other artists on the project include Krept and Konan, Runtown, Phyno, DJ Bucks,Phil Ade, signed to Nigerian-American rapper Wale’s outfit.
The rapper also let Pulse know that the album will be coming out with a book and a movie.
Finally, he speaks on why he was just releasing the album after “Fire of Zamani”, relating it to the issue with Chocolate City, trying to amicably exit the label after his contract had expired.
He added that he would never join others to talk bad or try to bring down a label as some would do when walking out of a label on bad terms.
The gifted rapper then entertains questions from the Pulse reps such as the interpretation of the “Jos to the World” album title, the feeling meeting with Jay-Z, which of his albums so far has been his most personal, and so on.
