Leeds United's new signing, Harry Wilson, made his unofficial debut. The Welsh attacking midfielder, who arrived on a free transfer, featured in the team's first pre-season friendly. The Yorkshire side fell 3-2 to Wrexham in a match played in Tampa, Florida. Leeds was without Ilia Gruev, who continues his recovery from injury.
Kieffer Moore opened the scoring in the first minute. Joel Piroe had a chance to equalize after Dan James won a penalty, but he missed the resulting spot-kick. Piroe redeemed himself by leveling the score with a back-heel flick. Bailey Cadamarteri put Wrexham ahead again before Sean Longstaff made it 2-2.
Wilson came on in the second half and came close to scoring late on, but sent his shot over the bar. Sam Smith netted the winning goal for the League Two side. He also scored in Wrexham's previous friendly, bagging the only goal in their 1-0 victory over Manchester United.
