German football club Hamburger SV has officially announced the signing of midfielder Marten Adelin from French side Troyes. The duration of the 22-year-old French youth international's contract was not disclosed, but the German team reportedly paid between four and six million euros for the transfer. "After a detailed review of last season, it was clear that we wanted to strengthen our squad in specific areas and add players with different qualities. Marten brings exactly what we are looking for. He will add a new dimension to our game, giving us more options and making us more flexible," stated sporting director Katrin Krüger.

Last season, Marten Adelin scored 10 goals and provided 11 assists in the French second division, helping Troyes secure promotion to Ligue 1. "I had a very good feeling after the initial talks with Hamburg. The size of the club, the fans, and the stadium appealed to me, as did the chance to continue my development and prove myself in the Bundesliga," the Frenchman commented. The North German team finished the previous season in 13th place in the German top flight with 38 points, 12 clear of the relegation zone.
