Manchester City midfielder Jack Grealish has attempted to quash speculation that he has been sidelined from the first team and is unwanted by new manager Enzo Maresca. The midfielder was not included in the squad for the pre-season tour of Asia, immediately sparking rumors that the club was looking to offload him.
“Just want to let you all know I’m still recovering from injury and not training yet. I haven’t been ‘ditched’ so stop talking rubbish, thanks,” Grealish wrote on social media in a post he later deleted.
Grealish joined the Citizens in the summer of 2021 for a fee exceeding £100 million. In his first season, he was part of the treble-winning squad, but his form subsequently dipped sharply, leading to a loan spell at Everton last year. With the Toffees, Grealish revitalized his career, delivering excellent performances, but later sustained an injury that saw him miss the latter part of the season.
