The Senate has asked President Goodluck Jonathan to return the original copy of a constitutional amendment bill which he vetoed on Monday, April 13, 2015.

The Senate reportedly made the demand in order to ascertain if the President had signed the bill before deciding to reject it.

Jonathan stated that he had refused to sign the bill because it didn’t comply with Section 9 of the 1999 Constitution.

Other issues the President raised include the usurpation of the powers of the Presidency and vagueness in the provision for free education.
