Gold, Diamonds, Sapphires, a Miniature MSG, and a Hidden Mechanism: Inside the Knicks' Unprecedented 22-Karat Championship Ring
Crafted in collaboration between renowned luxury jeweler Jason of Beverly Hills and Knicks leadership, the white-gold championship ring is adorned with nearly 800 diamonds and sapphires totaling 22 carats.
Round brilliant-cut and emerald-cut white diamonds are paired with radially set blue sapphires to showcase the Knicks' signature colors.
Beyond commemorating historic milestones and featuring individual player tributes, intricate engravings capture key moments from the team's title run. Most remarkably, the ring pushes creative boundaries with functionality never before seen in professional sports jewelry.
A built-in mechanical feature allows the ring's center to expand, elevating a miniature replica of Madison Square Garden's iconic exterior. This central piece can also be detached to reveal a fully detailed view of the Garden's lower bowl, complete with a golden basketball court.
The ring's perimeter is lined with the jersey numbers of every player on the championship roster, alongside personalized touches displaying each player's surname and diamond-encrusted number.
The words "World Champions" are spelled out using 69 round white diamonds, honoring the 69 total victories the Knicks tallied across the regular season and playoffs.
The popular fan chant "Knicks in five," which echoed throughout the city during the team's historic playoff run, is also engraved on the inside of the band.
"What sets this ring apart from any other I've designed is how every single element—from the combination of brilliant and emerald-cut diamonds with radial blue sapphires, to the player tributes and championship milestones—tells a story that is uniquely New York Knicks," Jason Arasheben of Jason of Beverly Hills told Page Six.
Arasheben added that the ring was engineered to "capture the team's identity and the defining moments of their road to the title."
Beyond providing rings for players and team staff, the jeweler is offering fans the chance to own a piece of New York sports history. Knicks supporters can purchase six different collectible items, including rings, pendants, and championship accessories. Headlining the collection is the "Knicks Premier Championship Ring"—a limited-edition, fully customized ring made of white gold and genuine diamonds, available for $19,995 on the jeweler's official website, with only 200 units produced.
Philadelphia ultimately played the spoiler on ring night, leaving New York with a victory.
