Getafe president Angel Torres is weighing up another sensational transfer swoop. After securing the services of Dani Carvajal, the Madrid-based outfit maintain a genuine interest in another former Real Madrid captain, Sergio Ramos.

The club chief confirmed that he has already been in touch with the defender's brother and agent, Rene Ramos, to explore the conditions of a potential deal. However, Torres stressed that signing him is not an urgent priority at this stage, as the squad is well-stocked in central defence.

Speaking to the 'Tablero Deportivo' show on Radio Nacional de Espana (RNE), the president revealed that a deal could materialise under the right circumstances and that Ramos remains on their shortlist.

For now, head coach Jose Bordalas is focusing on other areas of the pitch. The tactician is primarily keen on reinforcing his options out wide, considering he already has six central defenders at his disposal for the upcoming fixtures.

"It is not a position where we have an urgent need right now. The coach wanted wingers. But the door is not closed, and he remains an option," the club president explained, suggesting that a move could also be pursued during the January transfer window.

At 40 years old, Sergio Ramos is searching for his next club following his departure from Mexican side Monterrey at the end of 2025. His last competitive appearance came on December 6 of that year in a 3-2 defeat to Toluca in the Liga MX Apertura semi-finals.

A potential switch to Getafe would see the World Cup winner return to the Spanish top flight and link up once again with Dani Carvajal. The pair were longtime teammates at the Santiago Bernabeu, and the right-back recently signed an agreement with the Madrid club running until June 30, 2027.

Although the operation is not currently at the top of Getafe's agenda, the legendary defender's name remains firmly on the table. Ramos' future will depend on how the transfer window unfolds and whether the team's requirements shift.
