The President of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Student Union Government, Omotoyo Akande, made the call on Wednesday during a courtesy visit to the Osogbo office of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Akande said Buhari should change the policies of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which has ruled the nation since the return to democracy in 1999.

The student leader noted that the incessant hike in school fees and graduate unemployment as well as the need to fund the education sector must be addressed.

He noted that Buhari's victory was based on student's belief in him.

"Students voted the President-elect not because of his stature but because of his principle and credibility in the past, as a former Head of State," Akande said.
