Remember Gaetano Kagwa? He represented Uganda in the first edition of the Big Brother Africa reality TV show in 2003, and at the time he was romantically linked with fellow housemate, Abby Plaatjes.
Well, Gaetano is now married (to Enid Kushemeza since August 2010) and he is a presenter/producer on Urban TV's Urban Today program that runs on the station every morning from Monday to Friday.
In an interview with New Vision, the media personality talks about married life and also shares some useful tips to keep your marriage happy and healthy. Read the excerpts below:
Why Do You Have a Password On Your Phone? It is my phone; my dear, phones are no longer just phones. They are part of us. Some of us have private family pictures saved. What happens if it lands in the wrong hands? But the good thing is my wife knows my password.
You Have Been Married For Five Years, What Is Taking You Long To Get Kids? When the right time comes, we shall get kids because we both love them. Right now, we are too busy. When we settle, we shall get as many kids as we want.
Would You Divorce a Woman Who Could Not Have Kids? No, If I divorce her that means I never loved her in the first place. I would settle with her till God blesses us with children. I would not even adopt.
Some Married Men Look Stressed, How Come You Are Happy? (Laughs). Marriage is good. It is not a bed of roses but it is interesting. I have never regretted why I made that decision. First of all, I married my friend; we joke a lot. My wife and I never sleep angry. I found her with her values and she also found me with my character and none of us has tried to change the other. We appreciate each other the way we are and to me, that is a plus.
What Has Kept You Married This Long? I am creative. Up to now, I still flirt with my wife. For example, if I am at a party with her, I can whisper sweet things in her ears, if I am by passing her; I can slap her butt. It might look childish but those small gestures lighten up people's days. If I am at work, I send her texts. I always keep it fresh and exciting. We travel together. If I have enough money, I take her for dinner.
What Do You Think Of Sex Before Marriage? Not having sex before marriage is so 1800s. If you are above 18 and dating, go for it. Sex plays a huge part in marriage. What if you get married to a person who will bore you for the rest of your days on earth?
You Look Fit, Do You Work Out? I do lots of beer and hanging out with my friends. Once in a while, I ride my motorbike. I also groom myself.
