Gable Steveson Returns to Wrestling at RAF 12 Event

Olympic gold medalist and current UFC heavyweight, Gable Steveson, is set to return to the wrestling mat. He will face his former collegiate rival, Anthony Cassioppi, at the upcoming RAF 12 event.

The fight night is scheduled for August 22nd at the Rocket Arena in Cleveland, marking the first anniversary of the RAF organization.

This will be Steveson's second appearance for RAF. In his organizational debut at RAF 9 in May, he secured a technical fall victory over former UFC and PFL heavyweight, Alexander Romanov. Earlier this month, the 26-year-old Steveson also made a successful UFC debut, knocking out Elisha Ellison in the first round at RAF 329. Steveson holds a 5-0 record against Cassioppi in their previous encounters.

Cassioppi enters the bout with momentum after his first RAF victory last Saturday at RAF 11, where he defeated Mostafa Elders by decision. In his previous matches for the organization, Cassioppi has faced two of the world's best – Shamil Sharipov and Akhmed Tazhudinov.

The main event of RAF 12 will feature Jordan Burroughs against UFC welterweight Sean Brady. In the co-main event, Colby Covington will grapple with Belal Muhammad for the RAF Light Heavyweight Crossover Title.

Colby Covington and Belal Muhammad are slated to compete for the RAF Crossover Title at RAF 12 in August.
