From Underdogs to Dream Team: Asvel Targets EuroLeague Summit with Massive New Signing – Set to Boast Europe's Best Backcourt!
For years, Asvel has been considered one of the EuroLeague's weaker teams, but that narrative is set to change next season.
The club's participation in Europe's elite competition was long uncertain, but the Villeurbanne-based team has secured funding and embarked on an ambitious project led by Tony Parker, with new signings already lining up for the upcoming season.
While official confirmations are still pending, Sylvain Francisco is widely expected to join Asvel. Deals for Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot and Armoni Brooks also appear to be finalized, and the team's management is reportedly hoping to add Guerschon Yabusele.
In the meantime, they've also turned their attention to non-French players, with Nick Weiler-Babb reportedly on the verge of signing with Asvel.
Weiler-Babb is an exceptional guard, recognized as one of Europe's top defenders. This past EuroLeague season, he averaged 7.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.
The German international began his European journey with Ludwigsburg, then spent five seasons with Bayern Munich, before Anadolu Efes became his first club outside of Germany.
