Manchester United is reportedly open to selling Manuel Ugarte this summer, with the midfielder pushing for a move after a frustrating season at Old Trafford where he failed to establish himself in the team's new system, according to English press reports.

Indeed, despite often being a substitute rather than a starter, the departure of Ruben Amorim marked a turning point where the midfielder ceased to be a primary option. Carrick's arrival saw Mainoo reclaim a spot in the starting XI, and since then, the former Sporting player has only featured in the closing minutes of a few matches. Conversely, he played almost every minute for Uruguay in their two March friendlies against England and Algeria.

Consequently, Ugarte's desire to leave the club is an open secret internally, even with Casemiro's impending summer exit. The midfielder had previously explored a loan move in the January transfer window, but Manchester United, or rather Amorim, blocked the transfer. Now, the situation has evolved, and a permanent transfer is looking increasingly likely.

Juventus has emerged as the frontrunner to secure Ugarte's services, with the Italian club's interest dating back to his time at Sporting. The club's sporting director, Marco Ottolini, has personally scouted the midfielder in recent international matches, intensifying preparations for the summer market. A move to Serie A is considered a strong possibility, though its completion hinges on Juventus qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.

Manchester United values the player at approximately 40 million euros, a figure higher than his current market valuation of 30 million euros, according to Transfermarkt. Ugarte's annual net salary, around 4 million euros, is not expected to be a hurdle for interested clubs.

In addition to Juventus, Galatasaray has re-entered the race, willing to offer Ugarte a prominent role in their Champions League project and guaranteed regular playing time – something he lacked in Manchester and which could be a decisive factor in his choice.

Other clubs like Newcastle United and Aston Villa are monitoring the situation, while Ajax and Sunderland have also been linked with the player, though they are considered less likely destinations. With several clubs attentive and Manchester United open to negotiations, Ugarte is shaping up to be one of the key names to watch in the upcoming transfer window.
