The Ovation publisher said he consulted widely before making his move, praising his new party as the only one that can rescue Nigeria from the incumbent Federal Government controlled by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He said Nigeria has experienced a dangerous and disastrous drift under the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration over the past six years.

Momodu said the APC leadership has destroyed national unity, security, economic prosperity, educational advancement, social infrastructure, and moral values.

"It is deeply saddening and regrettable that some of the biggest and landmark achievements recorded under the PDP administration have been diluted, wasted, or diminished by the present APC government," he said.

Momodu was the presidential candidate of the National Conscience Party (NCP) in the 2011 presidential election and ended up with just over 26,000 votes.
