Former NBA player Al Harrington has shared his thoughts on Slovenian superstar Luka Dončić and basketball legend LeBron James.

During a discussion about Dončić's potential, Harrington criticized the period when the Slovenian was supposedly mentored by LeBron James with the Los Angeles Lakers, stating that Dončić learned nothing.

"It's not just about points. We, as basketball players, know this best. It's not just about how much you score, because you can score a lot and still be a bad player, or you might just be scoring because the situation demands it," Harrington began, speaking on the To the Baha podcast.

"I think the question is, will he be able to find someone who can develop his overall game? For example, you'd think that playing with LeBron James, seeing his work ethic, his habits, and everything else, should make you better, right?

"Personally, I don't think that happened, because, first, he's arrogant. And second, LeBron is at a stage in his career where I think he probably no longer has the same patience he once did," the former basketball player continued.

"He certainly doesn't have the same approach anymore, you know. I'm willing to bet that on the court itself, LeBron is no longer as engaged in some aspects.

"Off the court, perhaps it's different. He probably still does everything necessary, works on his game, keeps his body in perfect shape, but his approach to what happens directly on the court has most likely changed. That's why the kid (Dončić) simply didn't have the opportunity to see everything to its full extent.

It seems to me he needs either a coach like Popovich, or someone who can truly make him sit down, explain everything to him, and convince him what he needs to do to become one of the greatest basketball players of all time and start winning championships," Harrington added.
