Fally Ipupa, Egyptian folk singer, Hakim; The Soweto Gospel Choir, sensational singing group, Uhuru; pan-African group, Cirque Afrique and Tanzania’s prominent multiple award-winning singer, Diamond are some of the other African acts billed to perform at the award.

Nigeria’s RnB singer Wande Coal, afrobeat Icon, Lagbaja and Glo ambassador, Omawumi will perform as well.

Glo’s West Africa Region Marketing Director, Mr Ashok Israni stated the reason for the artistes: ‘’it is a careful selection of music stars and highly decorated performers, whose songs are currently ruling the airwaves across the continent.’’

Ex-internationals, Jay Jay Okocha and Garba Lawal think that either of the Nigerian duo, Vincent Enyeama and Musa Ahmed can win the award. They believe Yaya Toure stands a better chance.

‘’Though I won’t be among the voters, I really think the winner should be Yaya Toure. I’ve been watching him week in week out and his performance tells it all. That is my opinion,’’ Lawal said.
