Two powerful earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude, struck the South American nation last Wednesday. The natural disaster caused widespread damage, collapsed buildings, and resulted in thousands of casualties, injuries, and displaced individuals. Authorities reported over 1,700 fatalities by Monday.

Real Madrid, through its foundation and in collaboration with the Red Cross, launched a fundraising campaign to support rescue and humanitarian operations. "Real Madrid has decided to support this campaign with a donation of one million euros to aid the victims and affected families. President Pérez will also contribute an additional million euros," the club stated in a press release.

"At Real Madrid, we want to express all our support, affection, and solidarity with the Venezuelan people during these extremely challenging times," the club added.

Another Spanish football giant, FC Barcelona, also announced aid for Venezuela, launching a humanitarian campaign through its foundation over the weekend. The Catalan club stated it provided an initial contribution of 100,000 euros to assist those affected.
