A talented baker has made larger than life sculptures of Batman and Superman entirely out of cake.

Rose Macefield, a baker, spent a whopping 300 hours to carefully craft the over 6ft tall superheroes for Cake International at Birmingham’s NEC.

The heroes contain 60 kilos of sugar paste and rice crispies centre built around metal and plastic frame.

Rose, a 42 year old mother of four says both superhero characters have a universal appeal as they are with popular with kids, ladies and adults.

Rose is an award-winning cake artist from Dudley, West Midlands, who started baking eight years ago when she baked the cake for her son's christening.

From regular and small cakes, Rose eventually got into the work of cake sculpting. She started competing in 2009 after submitting a small figurine at an event.

She won the coveted ‘best in show’ award in 2013 at Cake International. Now she is often a judge at cake shows and she recently published a book titled ‘’.
