Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick expressed immense satisfaction after the Catalans secured their second consecutive La Liga victory of the season, defeating Athletic Bilbao 2-0. The German tactician analyzed his team's offensive style, praised Raphinha's performance as a central striker, and showered young Xavi Espart with compliments.
“We have a clear vision to play much more attacking football. We played a great game and created many chances, but unfortunately, we only scored two goals. Sometimes, we need a bit more composure on the pitch and to combine more effectively for our teammates,” Flick commented on his team's efficiency in front of goal.
The German also justified his decision to deploy Brazilian Raphinha at the spearhead of the attack.
“When I plan for a match, I truly believe he can be our best number nine. He is an exceptionally talented player – the intensity he brings, the goal he scored, and his dynamism are simply fantastic,” the coach added.
However, the greatest praise from the coach's lips was reserved for young Xavi Espart, who made a strong impression with his tactical maturity.
“I highly value what I see from him. It surprises me that he can play equally well on the left flank. He is always fully focused on his tasks, and tactically, he is simply excellent. I am extremely happy with his development; he truly is a top player,” concluded the Barcelona manager.
