Super Eagles move up one place in October ranking

After staying two months in the 53rd position, the Super Eagles of Nigeria have moved up one place to 52nd latest FIFA Ranking.

The upward movement is as a result of their 2-0 friendly victory over Niger Republic and a goalless draw with Tanzania in the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

They however drop to 10th from a previous 9th in the Africa ranking while Algeria, 19th in the world, maintained their position as Africa’s top team.

Cote d’ivoire, (21), Ghana (25), Tunisia (36) and Senegal (38) make up the top five teams in Africa.

Cape Verde (41), Cameroon (48), Congo (49) and Egypt (51) are all ranked above Nigeria in the Africa ranking.

Argentina remain the number one country in world football, while Germany move up to second.

Portugal, Colombia and Spain make up the top five.
