Nigeria was 63rd in the February rankingbut is now the 62nd football country in the world according to the latest ranking.
They also moved up in the African ranking from 12th to 11th.
Côte d'Ivoire follows in second place (36 in the world) Algeria is third (37 ) Ghana is fourth (41) while Tunisia round the top five (47).
Other African countries above Nigeria include Senegal (48), Egypt (53), Congo DR (58), Congo (59) and Cameroon (61).
Belgium, Argentina, Spain, Germany and Chile are the top five teams in the world.
