The Super Eagles have moved up four places in the August FIFA Ranking.
In the latest ranking released by FIFA on Thursday, August 6, Nigeria rose up four spots to 53rd place in the world ranking but remains in 10th place in the Africa ranking.
Algeria (19), Cote d'Ivoire (21), Ghana (27) Tunisia (34) Senegal (39) Cameroon (42), Congo (43) Cape Verde (50) and Egypt (52) are all ahead of Nigeria on the Africa ranking.
On the World Ranking, Argentina continues to be the leader, while Belgium has come up to second knocking current World champions Germany to third place.
Colombia and Brazil make up the top five teams in the world.
Portugal, Romania, England and Wales and Copa America winners Chile round up the top 10.
Former world champions Spain moved a place up to the 11th spot as Brazil are fifth in the world and third in South America.
