FIFA has confirmed that global superstar Justin Bieber will headline the historic inaugural halftime show of the 2026 World Cup Final in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. The event is scheduled for Sunday, July 19th. Bieber joins Madonna, Shakira, and BTS in this first-of-its-kind World Cup halftime show, bringing together world-class artists in a unique moment that blends sport, culture, and social impact, broadcast live globally.

The 11-minute spectacle, creatively directed by Chris Martin, lead singer of Coldplay, will also feature Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel, and the PS22 Chorus (comprised of fourth and fifth graders from a Staten Island, New York public school), with a special appearance by Justin Bieber.

The halftime show will support the FIFA Education Fund and Global Citizen – a landmark initiative aiming to raise $100 million to expand access to quality education and football for children worldwide. The fund has already raised over $50 million, with $1 from every ticket sold for the 2026 World Cup matches being donated.

Following commitments made by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and Portuguese Prime Minister Luís Montenegro, Global Citizen is urging other participating nations – French President Macron, Spanish Prime Minister Sánchez, and German Chancellor Merz – to announce new contributions at a special event on July 16, 2026.

"I'm grateful to be a part of this show. The FIFA World Cup unites the world like nothing else. I'm thankful to be part of this halftime show, and even more so that it's already helping to expand access to education for children worldwide," stated Justin Bieber.

"The FIFA World Cup is one of the few moments that truly manages to unite the entire world. Representing Africa in the first-ever World Cup Final halftime show is a privilege and a responsibility I don't take lightly. I am honored to be part of a performance that not only celebrates football and culture but also helps create more opportunities for children through education worldwide," said Burna Boy.

"This is the biggest gathering of artists united by a cause since Live Aid and could become the most-watched 11-minute musical performance in television history. This is a moment that will unite the world through music, hope, and action," said Hugh Evans, Co-Founder and CEO of Global Citizen. He added: "These exceptional artists, representing all corners of the globe, are coming together to help create opportunities for children worldwide through the FIFA Education Fund and Global Citizen. Together, we call on world leaders, particularly President Macron and Prime Minister Sánchez, to seize this moment of global unity by contributing to the fund and ensuring this World Cup sets a new standard for lasting impact."

The halftime show will also feature characters from "Sesame Street," who have made learning fun for children worldwide for generations. Their presence reinforces the event's goal: to ensure every child, everywhere, has access to quality education. Kermit, Miss Piggy, and other members of The Muppets band, part of The Walt Disney Company, will also join the celebration.
