Fenerbahçe star Tarik Biberović is set to continue his career in the NBA, having reportedly reached an agreement with the Dallas Mavericks on a one-year deal with an option for a second season.
The transfer appears increasingly likely as the Mavericks are soon expected to acquire his draft rights from the Memphis Grizzlies. The Bosnian-Turkish sharpshooter was originally selected by the Grizzlies with the 56th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.
Fenerbahçe will receive a $2 million buyout fee from this transfer. Under NBA rules, the Mavericks can contribute up to $900,000 towards this sum, meaning the remaining amount would need to be covered by the player through the terms of a potential contract.
Moving to Dallas marks a logical next step in the 24-year-old's development. Biberović has been with Fenerbahçe since 2018, and over eight seasons with the Istanbul giants, he gradually became an integral part of their rotation, establishing himself as one of the EuroLeague's most dangerous long-range shooters.
