'878 traffic offenders have been arraigned before 200 mobile courts,' says FRSC

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has arrested 878 traffic offenders, this year.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), 200 mobile courts have been set up to handle these arrests.

A statement from the agency revealed that 783 of them were convicted, while 95 were discharged.

Their offences included mechanical deficiency, drivers’ licence violation, and more.

They were arrested during a special patrol exercise organised by the Ota Unit Command, FRSC.

According to Leye Adegboyega, the Unit Commander said the arrest and exercise, tagged “End-of-Year Operation Sanity Special Patrol,” was part of the agency's plan to reduce and eventually put an end to road crashes.
