Basharat (16-0) completed his contract with the promotion following a victory over John Garza in July. However, he was not offered a new deal despite maintaining a flawless professional record of 16 straight wins. His resume also features notable victories over Jean Matsumoto, Chris Gutierrez, and Taylor Lapilus.

Having fought out the final bout of his previous agreement, the 29-year-old is now an unrestricted free agent and free to sign with any promotion. Nevertheless, the door remains open for a potential UFC return in the future.

Basharat enjoyed a sensational tenure with the organization, winning all seven of his fights after earning a contract on Dana White's Contender Series in 2022. That undefeated run propelled him into the official bantamweight top 10.

The situation closely mirrors that of his older brother, Javid Basharat, who was also parted ways with by the UFC coming off a victory before eventually signing with the PFL.
